National
Labor Relations Act Employee Rights Notice:The National Labor Relations
board has postponed the implementation date for its new notice-posting
rule by another 3 months. The federal court in Washington, DC, is in
the process of hearing a legal challenge regarding the rule. The new
effective date for posting the notice is April 30, 2012.
San
Francisco "No Smoking" Poster: San Francisco Ordinance
No. 58-10. permits smoking at the curb, or, if no curb, at least 15
feet from entrances, exits, operable windows, and vents.
"No
Smoking" Poster: AB 846 prohibits smoking within 20
feet of any main entrance, exit, or operable window of a public building. "No
Smoking" signs are required to be posted by all entries and exits,
and Cal/OSHA places the responsibility of enforcement on the landlord
and tenants. Currently, this new law only applies to buildings owned
or leased by government agencies, including city, county, state, and
federal businesses, including colleges in California. However, it is
likely this will eventually be applied to private businesses as well.
San
Francisco Minimum Wage Poster: The new minimum wage became effective
01.01.2011 and all employers with offices in San Francisco must post
this in a visible location along with other state and federal posters.
